Complying with the HSV Purchasing Policies
Public health services must follow the HSV Purchasing Policies (HSV PPs) when procuring goods and services. They must also prove they are complying with the HSV PPs by submitting periodic reports.
These requirements are legislated under Victorian law.
HSV assists health services to comply with the HSV PPs. We also provide support and encouragement to health services and monitor their progress.
Health service compliance with the HSV PPs is important. The HSV PPs aim to maintain the integrity of Victoria’s public health system. The policies guide health services on best-practice procurement and achieving best-value outcomes for Victoria’s public health system.
Compliance guidelines for health services
The HealthShare Victoria compliance guidelines detail HSV’s function and health service obligations under the HSV PPs. Health services should familiarise themselves with the guidelines.
How we assess compliance
To assess health service compliance with the HSV PPs, we use the HSV compliance framework underpinned by a graduated compliance model. Find out more on the Assessing compliance with the HSV Purchasing Policies page.
