Online library a valuable source of PPE information

Online library a valuable source of PPE information2

At the height of Victoria’s second wave of COVID-19 infections in 2020, Victoria’s public hospitals and hotels used an average of 900,000 masks per week sourced by HealthShare Victoria (HSV) and centrally distributed to public health services through the State Supply Chain (SSC).

To support health services in using these supplies, HSV established a Product Information Library which quickly became the single source of information on about 770 products, including different types of masks from multiple suppliers.

The library contains information on a range of Tier 1 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and has been accessed more than 2,750 times since the start of the pandemic. It continues to play an important role in ensuring health services have confidence in the efficacy and safety of the $1 billion in essential PPE and equipment sourced through HSV and the SSC.

Visible only to health services, the library’s search engine is accessible via a quick link located within the My Dashboard area when users are logged into their HSV website account.

We extend our thanks and appreciation to all suppliers who have provided valuable product information and helped us keep the information in the library updated.

HSV website users will also see an improvement that will list frequently used contract documents, including pricing schedules and award matrices, at the top of any given contract cabinet. The change means that HSV documents that had been ordered alphabetically will now be more readily accessible.

If you have any queries about the library, please contact an HSV Customer Relationship Manager or the HSV Helpdesk at helpdesk@healthsharevic.org.au or (03) 9947 3700.
