New supply chain operations commence

Story 2 Supply chain operations on track for 28 June2

HealthShare Victoria (HSV)'s new supply chain operations have commenced.

Key points:

  • Bulk stock items have been sourced and stocked at the new Derrimut Distribution Centre (DC).
  • HSV’s current focus is on health services who are first to onboard from the Melbourne Health cluster.

In recent weeks, we have made significant progress including:

  • Completing the fit-out and establishing operational systems and safety procedures at our new Distribution Centre (DC) in western Melbourne.
  • Sourcing bulk stock items for the Derrimut DC.
  • Completing implementation of HSV’s FMIS system for supplier purchasing and inventory purposes.

HSV’s current focus is on health services who are first to onboard, including Melbourne Health, Western Health, Northern Health, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

From 28 June, HSV’s customers should not experience any change in their day-to-day activities as existing operations continue, involving:

  • All requisitions and imprest orders continuing to be placed as per existing arrangements via Melbourne Health Logistics (MHL).
  • MHL operations continuing as currently, including placing orders for non-stocked items.

"Implementing our supply chain is something we want to do efficiently but, more importantly, properly," says HSV Chief Executive Neil Rodaway.

"Our primary objective is to provide a supply chain solution that addresses the requirements of our Melbourne Health precinct partners – our system implementation is ready to ensure a smooth start to operations for our customers from day one."

Work to progress HSV processes and systems is continuing to ensure we can deliver the best possible experience for HSV customers, our people and our stakeholders from day one.

HSV has sent advice to suppliers currently supplying non-contracted and contracted stock to Melbourne Health Logistics (MHL) about establishing HSV as a new account.

HSV will continue to communicate important information and updates and suppliers are urged to keep profile and contact details up to date in the procurement portal via the HSV website.

Suppliers requiring further information about establishing HSV as an account, or with any queries or concerns can contact the HSV helpdesk on (03) 9947 3700 or email helpdesk@healthsharevic.org.au.
