HSV procurement activity on track

HSV Derrimut DC 011

The focus on close cross-jurisdictional working relationships applies equally to HSV's public health service stakeholders in Victoria.

Following the release of the draft FY23:H1 Procurement Activity Plan (PAP) covering the period from July 2022 to June 2024, health service feedback has shown a need to continue activities to boost reference group participation, in order to validate data and implement contracts when established so that benefits can be realised.

While HSV’s plan to deliver $38.3 million in savings and $277.5 million in benefits across the next two financial years to June 2024 is on track, further work is also needed to seek health service spend for the 12 activities listed as opportunity assessments on the PAP.

HSV is working with health services to obtain spend data for identified opportunities and reviewing our approach to PAP engagement and how feedback is collated.

HSV has completed 18 of the 19 activities outlined in the Procurement Activity Plan (PAP) between January and June 2022, representing $383 million in value under contract and $9 million in actual cost reduction:

  • 23 additional activities including eight where an existing contract is due for renewal
  • 11 delayed resourcing activities due to competing COVID-19 response activities
  • 4 new activities (1 Greenfield, 1 Group Buy, 2 Supplementary)
  • 13 Opportunity Assessments HSV is seeking health service interest and value of opportunity.

The approved FY23:H1 PAP has been published on the Procurement Activity Plan page on the HSV website. The next PAP review is due in December 2022.
