Temporary product price increases and surcharges due to the Middle East conflict
HealthShare Victoria (HSV) has been receiving a number of supplier requests to temporarily increase prices for HSV-contracted items in response to higher costs relating to geopolitical conflict and other market changes.
We have been carefully assessing supplier requests on a case-by-case basis and have now approved some temporary product price increases for a period of up to 3 months. We expect more approvals to flow through in the coming weeks.
Some increases will be applied through updated pricing schedules listing the increased price. The pricing schedules will revert to the original price at the end of the review period. Health services will receive notifications of updated pricing schedules from the HSV website, as is usual practice. Please ensure that you have favourited contracts to receive the notifications.
Other increases will be applied via surcharges, which will be provided to health services on individual invoices. These surcharges will appear as a separate line in the invoice. Suppliers will provide health services with the month’s consumption and cost prior to invoicing. If preferred, health services may have the option to implement surcharges as pricing schedule updates with supplier agreement.
