Peninsula University Hospital hosts HSV’s senior leadership meeting

PUH tour

HSV’s senior procurement leadership team meets monthly to discuss HSV’s strategic priorities and operational updates in relation to procurement delivery across the public health system and align on key activities and initiatives.

As part of their regular meeting schedule, the team meets at health service locations across Victoria whenever possible. Taking meetings outside of the HSV head office in the Melbourne CBD and into hospitals means the team can connect with their health service customers as HSV partners and gain a greater understanding of the working healthcare environment.

In September this year, the senior procurement leadership team met at Peninsula University Hospital in Frankston, the newly rebuilt health service that forms part of Bayside Health.

The transformative redevelopment opened in January this year, delivering 130 more beds, an expanded emergency department and new maternity, paediatric, mental health and oncology spaces.

Making the most of the visit, the team also participated in a guided tour of the hospital’s supply department to see the newly renovated storage areas and warehouse setting, bringing to life the day-to-day processes involved in managing and supplying products within a health service.

Peninsula University Hospital Procurement Director Suraj Krishna hosted HSV’s visit. Throughout the tour, Suraj shared insights into how he led his team through the recent and significant Bayside Health merger and hospital re-build, highlighting that transparency and communication were key considerations.

“It was great to have a tour of the newly built facilities and a fantastic opportunity to connect with key stakeholders,” says HSV Head of Clinical Product Advice Diana Skratulja.

“The opportunity to connect face-to-face with our health service customers meant I was able to provide support when meeting with Peninsula University Hospital’s Clinical Product Advisor and advise them on an emerging issue directly.”

External meetings at health service locations, like Peninsula University Hospital, helps HSV strengthen its connections with its customers and see firsthand how procurement processes and supply chain support the delivery of healthcare services and care for patients.

Combining regular leadership meetings with health service visits forms part of HSV’s commitment to being a trusted business partner to Victorian health services and delivering better value together.
