What we do

HealthShare Victoria is a public sector entity provider of procurement and logistics services to Victoria's public health facilities.

Our purpose is to partner with Victorian public health services and the suppliers of the goods and services they need to ensure the right products and services are delivered to the right place at the right time.

We work to support better value for the whole state of Victoria and play a critical role in ensuring health services have access to goods that may be in higher demand or difficult to access, including personal protective equipment (PPE), medical consumables, ICU equipment and pharmaceuticals.

Sourcing and procurement

We work in partnership with our health service customers to understand their product and service needs. We meet these needs by sourcing the goods and services and establishing collective agreements (purchasing contracts) with suppliers through large-scale tenders.

HSV collective agreements cover medical consumables, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and indirect products and services such a security, bedlinen and meals.

Victorian legislative compliance

Under section 131 of the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic), we administer several compliance-related functions. We also work with health services to assist them to meet their compliance and probity obligations under the Act.

Under the Act, HSV collective agreements are further extended to health or related services that have been assessed by us as eligible services.

Logistics

Our end-to-end medical consumables supply chain integrates sourcing, ordering, purchasing, warehousing, and delivery.

We help hospitals to support better patient outcomes, by maximising purchasing power through more consistent stock availability and significant discounts for bulk orders.
