HealthShare Victoria transition to Department of Health

On 4 December 2025 the State Government announced its response to an independent review of the Victorian public service conducted by Helen Silver AO.  

The Silver Review sets out the future arrangements for the activities of HealthShare Victoria, which will be absorbed into the Department of Health as a branded division.  

The Department of Health and HSV will work on a transition plan over the coming weeks and months. Until the transition plan is agreed, we will continue to operate and develop services as previously agreed with the Department of Health.   

Over the coming weeks, I will work closely with the Secretary of the Department of Health and other partners on the details of the transition arrangements.  

In the meantime, HSV is continuing work to partner with Victoria’s public health services and our suppliers to deliver better value and provide the right products at the right time to support you and your patients and communities.
