HSV organisational structure changes align teams for future growth

Following funding adjustment changes, personnel changes and as part of our ongoing aim to deliver value to Victoria’s public health sector, HSV has reviewed its organisational structure.

Revisions to the structure maintain alignment with strategic objectives and future growth, by making sure functions reflect HSV’s current operational priorities and workload.

The Procurement and Logistics functions will now report directly to HSV Chief Executive Neil Rodaway, helping to reinforce the focus on Supply Chain consolidation of logistics activity across the state and emphasise an increased focus on cost reduction benefits and broader Department of Health initiatives.

In an additional change, HSV’s Customer Engagement and Supply Chain Surety teams will join the Procurement team.

“Together, they will reinforce HSV’s customer-centric approach and desire to work closely with health services to identify opportunities and resolve issues and ensure we continue working right across the supply chain to build resilience into our processes and agreements,” says HSV Chief Executive Neil Rodaway.

The functions and roles highlighted in green below indicate changed roles and reporting lines.

A key change is that the Chief Operating Officer role has ceased following incumbent Mili Cohen’s personal decision to provide supply chain expertise for HSV on a consulting basis rather than full-time.

“We wish Mili well as she adjusts to her new work-life balance, and we look forward to continuing to work with her on key projects,” says HSV Chief Executive Neil Rodaway.

HSV has created a new Chief Logistics Officer role to reflect our focus on consolidating health services and improving network efficiencies and cost reduction as our logistics network continues to expand. This role will also oversee the daily operational delivery performance of our medical consumables logistics service.

“General Manager Supply Chain Optimisation Alan Booth is acting in this role whilst we review requirements and the capacity for health services to work with us on extending the logistics consolidation before we commence recruitment,” Neil says.

Responsibility for operational logistics will continue to sit with Director Logistics Armin Odobasic and the Logistics Operations team.

A new Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) role reflects the continued growth and development and importance of this area in delivering benefits to the state over the short, medium and longer term.

“Rebecca Prior will continue to lead the Procurement team in the CPO role whilst we undertake a formal recruitment process,” Neil says.

“We have taken a considered approach to this organisational review, balancing the needs of each function with our aim to provide the best outcomes for our customers and stakeholders,” says Neil.

“We will continue to carefully work through the detailed structural arrangements and progress the necessary senior appointments.

“Currently we have talented people working in an acting or interim capacity in these areas who can provide any guidance or assistance health services may require,” he says.

HSV continues to focus on cost reduction for Victoria’s public health sector, working with health services based on an approach of ‘Together we save more’ and delivering savings beyond our cost to operate.

The ongoing focus is building on and refining HSV’s procurement and logistics capability to drive further improvements in logistics service delivery, supply chain surety outcomes and health service benefits.
