HealthShare Victoria organisational update

With the reduction in planned levels of funding across the Victorian health sector, and the winding down of pandemic response initiatives such as the State Supply Chain, HSV has made the difficult decision to reduce organisational resourcing.

As a result, up to 24 roles will be discontinued. However, by discontinuing roles from which people resigned and those at the end of fixed term contracts and matching as many displaced employees as possible to current vacant positions, we anticipate fewer than 10 current HSV employees will leave the organisation.

HealthShare Victoria Chief Executive Neil Rodaway says HSV continues to grow and expand operationally and remains committed to supporting health services to get the right product to the right place at the right time.

“The proposed changes will carefully rebalance roles to ensure we have the right mix of skills and positions to support our strategic goals and our health service customers,” he says.

HSV is currently in a consultation period with employees and the union, with changes to come into effect following the completion of this stage.

The proposed changes include a reduction in positions for HSV’s Customer Engagement team and a reorganisation to align with relevant health service portfolios and the increased preference for virtual engagement. The team will, however, continue to have a presence at health services whenever possible.

The HSV Surety team was set up as a distinct function with specific funding during the pandemic, however this funding has now ended. Surety remains a critical priority for HSV, and we propose to maintain a scaled-down function, which will continue to work closely with and integrate with the Procurement team.

“As we work through the proposed changes, we ask for patience and understanding from our health service customers as our teams adjust and continue to support you.” Neil says.

“We will provide updates as consultation with our employees progresses.”
