One month in and HealthShare Victoria’s (HSV’s) new Dandenong South distribution centre (DC) is operating well, efficiently servicing its foundation customer, Monash Health.

Following a year of preparation, the Dandenong South DC became operational on 21 October 2024. The first clinical consumable products were delivered to Monash Health the following week, marking the beginning of the consolidation Monash Health’s logistics function into HSV’s supply chain operations.

In the first month of operations, we’ve safely delivered more than 20,000 lines from the new DC to a total of 343 individual ward locations.

“The new team at Dandenong South have done an excellent job preparing for and commencing deliveries to Monash Health, all while helping to embed a robust safety culture at the new DC,” says Alan Booth, Acting Chief Logistics Officer.

“As is to be expected in the early days of a new DC, some minor issues that have cropped up have been addressed by the team and we’re working hard to continue delivering the right product to the right place at the right time.”

The Dandenong South facility is HSV’s second DC, complementing our Derrimut DC in Melbourne’s north-west.

“We are now well placed to bring on more health services as part of a broader consolidation of health purchasing and logistics activity across the state,” Alan says.

“We will be working with our customers to reduce their supply chain and product costs while also achieving savings for the state through purchasing benefits.”
