Australian Border Force to present at next Modern Slavery Community of Learning
A representative from the Australian Border Force’s Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Branch will present at HPV’s next Modern Slavery Community of Learning Workshop for reporting health services.

The January Community of Learning Workshop will take place on Thursday 28 January, from 10.00am to 11.00am. An invitation will be sent to reporting health services.
HPV commenced monthly forums in October this year as part of its continuing support for health services in meeting their modern slavery reporting requirements. The workshops provide a space to collaborate, connect and share learning.
The Australian Board Force reviews Modern Slavery Statements and in the January workshop they will overview:
-
good trends
-
areas for improvement
-
expectations for future reporting
-
information and resources available for reference.
The Australian Border Force advises organisations to focus on the supply chain as well as internal operations in their Modern Slavery Statements.
In order to produce a compliant Modern Slavery Statement, reporting health services are expected to undertake certain activities during each reporting period. These activities include assessing modern slavery risks and implementing due diligence processes.
