Warehouse visit caps year of logistics partnership with Monash Health

It has been a year since Monash Health integrated its logistics function with HSV and HSV’s Dandenong South Distribution Centre (DC) commenced deliveries to Monash Health. In that time, the DC team has made over 922 deliveries to Monash Health.

A group from HSV, including new members of the HSV Procurement leadership team, recently met with Monash Health and were invited to tour Monash Health’s Scoresby warehouse by Director Corporate Services and Finance Monash Health Mark Misquitta. The tour provided the HSV group with the opportunity to see the facility first-hand.

On 28 October 2024, the purchasing and logistics functions of a range of medical consumables was consolidated into HSV’s supply chain. HSV now purchases, picks and packs the goods and sends them from the Dandenong South DC to Monash Health’s Scoresby warehouse. From there, the Monash team breaks down the delivery and distributes it to Monash Health’s wards and campuses. Monash Health continues to manage the delivery and distribution of non-HSV supplies.

Head of Supply Chain Services Monash Health Tobin Chatterley and Warehouse and Logistics Manager Soji Antony led the tour, showing the HSV group where stock from Dandenong South DC is receipted and processed, and how it is staged ready for delivery.

“It was good for us to meet some of the new members of the HSV team, and it was useful for the HSV group to see the Monash warehouse and learn about its operations,” Tobin says.

“Meetings and site visits like this are important for building relationships and collaboration between Monash Health and HSV as we move further ahead with our partnership.”

General Manager Procurement Delivery HSV Michael Morpeth attended the tour and says it was good to meet the Monash team, tour the warehouse and see how HSV-supplied goods are provided to our health service customers and, ultimately, healthcare consumers.

“The tour was a great opportunity for us to join the dots and see where our deliveries go once they leave our DCs,” Michael says.

“The tour was a valuable way to acknowledge the collaboration between HSV and Monash Health’s Logistics teams, grow relationships and look ahead to further opportunities to work together.”
