Supplier roadshow connects health services and labour agencies

Online consultation supplier roadshow

Health services had the opportunity to meet potential labour agency suppliers face to face in a recent supplier roadshow that HealthShare Victoria (HSV) organised.

The roadshow, held in late August 2025, connected health services with suppliers engaged under the Agency Labour Clinical and Support agreement, which covers recruitment agencies specialising in nurses, midwives, mental health nurses and clinical and non-clinical support services.

Fourteen suppliers participated in the day-long online event, each conducting a 30-minute meet and greet session where they provided information about their agency, how they manage the onboarding process and how they work with health services. The sessions were staggered throughout the day to allow health services to attend and meet as many of the suppliers as they wished – from one to all.

“Suppliers under the agreement are more than willing to work with health services, but it’s up to the health services themselves to decide which agency is best for them,” says HSV Head of Indirect Products and Services Sourcing James Lee.

“The roadshow enabled health services to meet suppliers to decide if they are a good fit without having to organise multiple appointments themselves. All they had to do was drop in to the supplier sessions that interested them – HSV arranged everything else,” James says.

Regional health services found the day particularly beneficial as the agreement was expanded to regional health services on 1 May 2025, marking the first time they have had access to recruitment agency suppliers through an HSV agreement.

Vyshu Ravi, Manager Staffing Solutions at Albury Wodonga Health attended the roadshow and met most of the suppliers.

“I found the roadshow incredibly helpful,” Vyshu says.

“I was able to meet all the agency labour clinical suppliers in one day and make a priority list of those who best meet our needs. Now we can move forward to building relationships with the suppliers who ticked all the boxes for us – it’s made it easier to pick and choose who best suits our organisation.”

James agrees that the event has had a positive outcome.

“The HSV Services stream is people-based rather than product-based, so getting to know suppliers and how they work with health services is very important,” he says.

“Health services have now met suppliers on the panel before they engage them. Knowing which suppliers have the right capabilities for their service will save time and create certainty, especially for health services that have specific needs,” says James.

“For HSV, the roadshow is another way we can collaborate with health services to support them through the agreement.”
