HSV’s Logistics team is continuing its work to onboard health services in regional Victoria, including Albury Wodonga Health (AWH).

The Logistics team led by Director Logistics Armin Odobasic carried out a second site visit at Albury Wodonga last month to discuss improving efficiency and progressing onboarding opportunities with the AWH warehouse team.

“For AWH, a key objective was to resolve space constraints at their warehouse”, says Armin.

“Through our bulk delivery model, we offer a more consistent supply. This means our regional health services can order smaller quantities which helps them to free up space onsite. We will continue to work with AWH on a suitable model for onboarding in FY24.”

Meanwhile at South West Health, a new warehouse facility has opened at Warrnambool. In December 2023, HSV’s Supply Chain team toured the warehouse, which will stock linen and medical consumables.

“The impressive new warehouse, which went live in February 2024, will improve services and operations and allow more space to be allocated to patient care at Warrnambool hospital,” says Armin.

In addition to onboarding projects, the HSV Supply Chain team is finalising plans to transition HSV’s new Dandenong South Distribution Centre from a State Supply Chain PPE storage facility to a fully operational order fulfilment site.

“We are currently working internally with procurement, finance and logistics to get the Dandenong South Distribution Centre operational,” says Armin.

“This includes installing IT equipment and Wi-Fi throughout the facility, installing a safety barrier and driver safety zone to meet health and safety requirements, and fitting desks for staff.”

The Dandenong South Distribution Centre will form part of the developing HSV statewide logistics network in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs and is expected to be operational by mid-2024.
