HSV has begun delivering stock to the new Footscray Hospital site in readiness for its opening in February 2026. Preparations for setting up storerooms across 13 floors of the hospital are also underway.

HSV’s General Manager Transformation Sam Woldemar says great progress has been made thanks to the hard work and collaboration between HSV and Western Health.

In June the HSV project team visited the new site, which is still under construction, gaining valuable insights into the hospital’s layout and operational needs.

“The team has put a lot of time, energy and commitment into understanding Western Health’s requirements,” says Sam.

“Their efforts have been key to ensuring we continue to support Footscray Hospital and their relocation to the new site.”

Arnold Sottile-Roxas, Western Health’s Divisional Director for Procurement Services says Western Health is appreciative of the collaboration and assistance the HSV Project team has provided in preparing for, and now implementing, the processes developed to establish the new Footscray Hospital.

“Their professionalism, clarity, and shared commitment to excellence have made the planning process both productive and energising,” says Arnold.

“We value their openness to ideas, their proactive communication, and the way they approach challenges with a solutions-first mindset.

We’re looking forward to what’s ahead, working in partnership to operationalise the new Footscray Hospital,” he says.

The $1.5 billion new Footscray Hospital is one of the state’s largest ever health infrastructure projects.

The new Footscray Hospital is being delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority in partnership with the Plenary Health consortium, Western Health and Victoria University.
