HealthShare Victoria’s (HSV) priority throughout the COVID-19 pandemic is to support Victoria’s public health services in maintaining continuity of supply.
HSV is sourcing products on behalf of health services
We are currently sourcing the following products on behalf of health services from HSV contracted suppliers and new suppliers:
- surface disinfectants
- gloves
- protective apparel (gowns, face shields, protective eyewear etc)
- pathology consumables
Please note the Department of Health and Human Services is also seeking products for state-wide stocks. If you have a product that may be of interest, particularly new innovations, please send your details to covid-19supplies@dhhs.vic.gov.au.
Centralised ordering and distribution of Tier 1 PPE and other items
The Victorian Government has centralised the ordering and distribution of Tier 1 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), swabs, disinfectant wipes, sterilisation wrap and other items to ensure that essential supplies reach areas with the greatest clinical need.
Tier 1 PPE items are supplied via the State Supply Chain (SSC) managed by Monash Health. Tier 1 PPE items include:
- N95 respirators
- surgical masks
- surgical masks with visors
- hand hygiene
- eye protection
- isolation gowns
- examination gloves
- aprons
- face shields.
Other categories also supplied by the SSC include:
- swabs
- disinfectant wipes
- caps/bouffants
- overshoe covers
- sterilisation wrap.
The SSC places orders for all of these items on behalf of the state and health services should continue to place orders for these items through Zycus.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) equipment
ICU Equipment has been procured for the State Supply Chain to support Victorian health services to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ICU Equipment procured to establish additional ICU capacity in Victoria’s health services includes:
- ICU Dialysis
- transport monitors
- IV and Syringe pumps
- ventilators
- general ward beds with foam mattress
- bariatric beds with foam mattress
- patient trolleys
- humidifiers.
ICU beds, ECMO machines and mobile X-Ray systems have been fully allocated.
